Hilliard Davidson Boys Cross
Country Report
Hot Summer Bash Week: As the excitement builds and your desire to compete
begins to boil over, Davidson should remember that are bodies are not yet ready
for fast times but are minds will be as competitive as ever. The mind knows what each of you can do so
continue to picture that perfect race when you close your eyes. The goal of Davidson is to stay connected to
your teammates. Have a mental chain that
will not break. This chain will pull the
person behind up. Each of you are important and you must run for the team.
The workweek is full of
preparation for our first meet. Monday
we attack the HILLIARD workout, Tuesday and Wednesday build upon each
other. Thursday we pick it up. Friday is 5:45 AM pre meet. 7:00 PM we have dinner with the Trinity
Kentucky team and Saturday we arrive at the course at 7:45 AM.
Mental power: If you can picture the race you then can recreate
that image into a work of art that your body will produce. Know that you are strong and that when the
pain comes you will embrace it. You will
fight for your teammates. You will drive
to the finish because you are running for the name of DAVIDSON.
Front Runner Attitude: A front runner
is defined as someone who finishes in the top ten of a big meet. The Hot Summer Bash will feature seven state
ranked teams with the top team from Kentucky and the defending state champions
of Ohio. Davidson is older and
smarter. We know that our mission is
about the state championships but the process starts with our first meet.
